A bus journey shows the spaces between Tashkent’s landmarks: residential streets, shops and everyday travel. For a first attempt, choose a direct daytime route and work out payment before boarding. The journey can then become part of discovering the city.
ATTO’s announcement dated 30 September says Tashkent’s basic electronic fare became UZS 2,500 on 1 October 2026. A single-use QR ticket purchased with cash at an information kiosk costs UZS 3,000. These are the published figures checked for this article on 28 October 2026. Older advice quoting UZS 1,700 is no longer suitable for calculating a current journey.
ATTO lists transport cards, bank cards and mobile applications. A payment-network logo on an overseas card is not a guarantee from us that it will be accepted. Have a working alternative ready. After tapping, wait for the validator’s confirmation rather than repeatedly presenting the card without checking the result. Resolve an unsuccessful transaction promptly.
The base fare does not explain every bus-and-metro combination. Consult ATTO’s current table for transfers and packages using your payment method. A bus–metro–bus itinerary should not automatically be counted as one journey at the initial fare. Compare a package with the trips you actually intend to make rather than buying a long pass for one short day.
Save your destination stop and check the direction of travel as well as the final walk. A direct journey with an obvious exit point is easier to manage at first. Treat a station transfer with heavy luggage separately: allow a traffic buffer and check baggage conditions. Do not base an important train connection on the most optimistic journey time displayed on a map.
