On a regional map, Sangardak may look like another stop beside Termez. In reality, it is a journey to a different part of Surkhandarya and the mountain scenery of Sariosiyo District. Choose it as a separate day or part of a regional route rather than an addition to city sightseeing.
Uzbekistan’s tourism portal gives approximate distances of 205 kilometres from Termez and 30 kilometres from Denau. These do not replace a calculation for your particular road journey. Check the route from your accommodation to the relevant entrance, stops and return. Do not promise a fixed driving time based on average speeds across the plains.
On 26 August 2026, the Tourism Committee announced the opening of the first phase of the Sangardak complex, including a 1,535-metre cableway. This is a dated infrastructure announcement, not a guarantee that every attraction will operate on your travel day. Waterfall access, the cableway and other activities each need their conditions checked.
Decide whether the main aim is the waterfall, a walk or the new facilities. Ask about the current entrance, tickets, final uphill departure, age restrictions and bad-weather arrangements. This guide does not give an unverified universal tariff. If nature is your priority, do not assume every optional attraction must be purchased.
Check weather and road conditions closer to departure. Wear stable footwear for wet paths, remain in permitted areas and keep children close. A photograph of the cascade is not a forecast of today’s water flow. Begin the long return with time to spare so you can stop and rest without racing for a flight or train.
Prepared and checked on 28 October 2026. Check opening arrangements, admission and transport again before travelling.
