One day in Tashkent: a route without rushing

Tashkent Places and walks

A first day in Tashkent works best when the stops tell a connected story. Start among the courtyards and blue domes of the Old City, explore the market, then finish with spacious squares and contemporary architecture.
Begin in the Old City
Visit Hazrati Imam, Barak Khan and Muyi Muborak, then make time for Zarkaynar Street. Look beyond the wide photograph of the square: tile patterns, carved wood and small streets reveal a different scale of the city. Ask permission before photographing people.
Make room for Chorsu
Combine Kukeldash with Chorsu Bazaar. Decide whether your priority is browsing, tasting food or shopping; a market visit can easily grow longer than planned. A meal stop is not part of the standard sightseeing programme. If you would like to try plov at Beshqozon, we can discuss an optional stop separately before the tour.
See another side of the capital

The Courage Monument, Independence Square, the exterior of Romanov Palace and Amir Temur Square show different periods of the city’s history. Use a car between distant stops and walk within each neighbourhood, leaving more energy for looking around.
Before you set off
Bring comfortable shoes, water and a charged phone. Plan extra breaks for children or older travellers, and leave a buffer before an important evening appointment.
My private sightseeing tour lasts 5 hours. Admission tickets along the agreed itinerary are included. A meal stop is optional and arranged separately. We agree the meeting point and pace in advance. Explore the tour itinerary →
A practical order for the day

For a first visit, a useful sequence is Hazrati Imam, Barak Khan and Muyi Muborak → Kukeldash, Zarkaynar Street and Chorsu → the Courage Monument → Independence Square → Romanov Palace (exterior) → Amir Temur Square. We drive between distant stops. The tour lasts 5 hours and is approximately 70% walking and 30% travelling by car. If the market is your main interest, we can agree more time there and adjust the other stops in advance. Admission tickets along the agreed itinerary are included; meals are optional.
