Start in the Old City with Hazrati Imam, historic madrasahs, neighbourhood lanes and Chorsu Bazaar. Continue to the Courage Monument, Independence Square of Uzbekistan, the exterior of Grand Duke Nikolai Konstantinovich Romanov’s Palace, and Amir Temur Square.

The standard sightseeing tour lasts 5 hours. A lunch stop at Beshqozon Plov Centre is optional, arranged in advance and paid for separately. I lead the tour personally and adapt the pace and details to your interests.

What to bring
Bring comfortable shoes.
When visiting religious sites, wear clothing that covers your shoulders and knees.
Women are also advised to bring a scarf to cover their head.

Hazrati Imam complex
The spiritual heart of old Tashkent. Mosques, madrasahs and mausoleums preserve the atmosphere of the city’s historic neighbourhoods.
Barak Khan Madrasah
A historic 16th-century madrasah with expressive architecture and the peaceful atmosphere of the old town. It was once an important centre of religious education.
Muyi Muborak Madrasah
A small madrasah in the Hazrati Imam ensemble, whose name means “Sacred Hair”. A place connected with religious relics and Tashkent’s spiritual history.
Kukeldash Madrasah
One of Tashkent’s best-known madrasahs, built in the 16th century. Overlooking the Chorsu area, it recalls the trading routes that once passed through the city.

Explore an atmospheric street in old Tashkent, where the unhurried rhythm of neighbourhood life still offers a glimpse beyond the main tourist sights.
Chorsu Bazaar

A memorial to the 1966 earthquake. We will discuss the event that led to much of Tashkent being rebuilt.
