Build a Bukhara budget around specific visits. Neighbouring buildings can have different ticket offices, and viewing an ensemble outside is not the same as admission to every interior.
List the essentials
Separate transport, accommodation, local transfers, museums and meals. For admission, note the visitor category and tariff date. The museum-reserve price list effective from 1 January 2025 gives foreign adult entry to both the Ark and the Sitorai Mokhi Khosa museum as UZS 60,000 each. Confirm whether these dated amounts still apply.
Remember possible extras
Photography, guiding, special exhibitions, drinks and café service can cost extra. Ask about waiting and luggage for transfers. Check children’s rules at each attraction rather than applying one age threshold across the city.
Leave a small reserve
Money for an unexpected taxi and water is more useful than calculating down to the last som. Two thoughtful museum visits may offer better value than numerous rushed entries. Before buying any package, request the exact inclusions, refund conditions and arrangements if an attraction is closed.
