The Ark is a fortress and museum complex, not simply the high gateway framed by towers. Decide how much exhibition time you want before visiting.
Choose a few themes
Look at the walls from outside before entering. Inside, select subjects that interest you and read the museum labels instead of moving through every room at the same speed. Allow for steps and transitions, and carry water.
Give the museum enough time
Around an hour and a half or more is a useful planning estimate. On a short visit, the Ark can be your main paid attraction rather than one of many hurried entries.
Treat published prices as dated information
The Bukhara Museum-Reserve website posts a tariff effective from 1 January 2025 listing foreign adult admission to the Ark at UZS 60,000. This is a dated reference, not proof that the price remains unchanged in 2026. Confirm the current visitor category, exhibitions included and any separate photography or guiding charges. Last admission may be earlier than closing time.
